Two Allen Park Officials Resign

ALLEN PARK (WWJ) - Allen Park will soon have a couple of high-level vacancies. Two city officials are resigning.

The News-Herald reports that finance director Timothy McCurley, who was appointed to the job six months ago, and Councilman Kyle Tertzag submitted letters of resignation to the city council this week.

This comes just weeks after the city issued layoff notices to its entire fire department, citing budget concerns. However, in the face of all of the city's financial woes, City Hall denies claims that the failed Unity Studios movie deal is to blame for Allen Park's economic troubles.
