Freedom of Access to Medicines Selects Aqaba for Web Services: The Sterling Heights Web marketing firm Aqaba has been awarded a social media marketing, Web design and Wordpress blog contract for FAMEDS, Freedom for Access to Medicines, a nonprofit organization formed to fight for patient access to life-enhancing medical options through educational, scientific and legal methods. The work grew out of Aqaba's work on the Web site for last fall's 2010 International District Export Council conference, which FAMEDS founder Terry Kalley chaired. FAMEDS is committed to helping women with metastatic breast cancer obtain access to the drug Avastin. The current 17,500 Avastin patients should not be deprived of their insurance or Medicare coverage due to the FDA's recent decision to take Avastin off-label, subject to one final hearing in late June, 2011. The online campaign will include a Web site, www.fameds.org, Tweeting, Facebook activities, LinkedIn networking, YouTube videos and blogging.  More at www.aqabatech.com.
