Matt Dery’s Daily Update 3-24-11

Jim Schwartz saying the other day that his QB has not started throwing a football yet, late last night Matthew Stafford tweeted that he has started to throw. The Lions starter under center coming back from shoulder surgery saying he just started throwing and that he continues to work out with his boys down in Athens, Georgia.

The Sweet 16 starts up tonight, with 4 games including the Horizon League’s own Butler Bulldogs who once again try to make an improbable run to the Final Four. That game tip at 10, the early game in New Orleans pits BYU and Jimmer Fredette up against Florida. Out West it’s UCONN and San Diego State from Anaheim followed by top seed Duke and Arizona.

Tigers play under the lights tonight in Lakeland against the Washington Nationals. Rick Porcello is on the hill for Detroit.

Terrico White continues to practice with his Pistons teammates but John Kuester today says he is unsure if the rookie will play this season.
