Head To Head Between Robert Bobb, School Board

DETROIT (WWJ) - The Detroit Public School Board will get an education of its own tonight -- learning what powers it does and doesn't have -- following a new state law. Emergency Financial Manager Robert Bobb meets with members of the board and their attorney at 6:00 Monday night in a closed-door session.

WWJ's Citybeat Reporter Vickie Thomas reports that Bobb has been given a big stick as a result of Public Act 4. The question now is how will he use it?

Bobb has vowed to continue to work with the board and the district's unions as he grapples with a $327 million budget deficit. Bobb can now modify or terminate union contracts and push to have elected officials removed from office.
