DETROIT (WWJ) – Attention kids, and kids at heart — there’s a free scoop of ice cream waiting for you at Ben and Jerry’s. It’s all part of National Free Cone Day.

Detroit’s Ben and Jerry’s Partner-shop Manager Layna Gardner-Lott says she hopes customers stopping by for free ice cream, also learn about their partnership with Goodwill Industries.

“This particular location was donated to us by Ben and Jerry’s to serve as a retail and food service training program, where city of Detroit residents ages 15 through 21 are able to learn, like I said, food service, customer service, retail skills and store operations skills,” Lott told WWJ Newsradio 950.

The free scoop is being offered beginning at noon Tuesday. The Ben and Jerry’s Detroit Partner-shop is located inside of the Compuware building.
