DETROIT (WWJ) – Two “Budget Task Force” town hall meetings are being held in metro Detroit this week. Democratic lawmakers want to hear how local residents feel about Governor Snyder’s proposed budget.
Democratic State Representative Jim Townsend of Royal Oak is hosting one of the meetings scheduled for 6:30 Wednesday evening at Madison High School in Madison Heights. He’s expecting a pretty large turnout.
“I’ve heard from hundreds of constituents and my colleagues are hearing from thousands of people who don’t believe we need some ideological crusade; what we need are leaders to sit down and solve the problem with responsible budgeting,” says Townsend.
Another town hall meeting is set to be held on Tuesday at Warren Woods Tower High School, starting at 4:30 pm.
