Registration is now under way for the 4th annual Western Michigan Veterans Entrepreneurial Conference, which will be held May 17 in Muskegon.

This year's conference features several informative panels and speakers that will discuss such topics as the basics of business start-up, identifying opportunities to sell to the state of Michigan, identifying resources available to the veteran entrepreneur and benefits that you, the veteran, are due.

The conference, which will be held at the Muskegon Holiday Inn, 939 Third St., is sponsored by VetBizCentral, the Michigan Small Business Technology Development Centers, the Small Business Administration and the Procurement Technical Assistance Centers of Michigan.

Justin Bajema, who served two tours in Iraq with the United States Marines and returned to the United States to open his own business in Grand Rapids, will be the keynote speaker. A Purple Heart recipient, Bajema attended the Entrepreneurial Boot Camp for Veterans at Syracuse University. He is a highly acclaimed public speaker, sharing his story on business leadership, overcoming adversity, success and the transition from "boots to suits" for combat veterans in the marketplace. He has been featured in the New York Times, Huffington Post, Detroit Free Press, USA Today and appeared on the Sean Hannity show.
