Food safety is a critical issue for consumers and the food industry. Auburn Hills-based Plex Systems Inc. announced the first of a series of food safety Webinars titled, “Food Safety Modernization Act: What it Means to the Food and Beverage Industry.”
Former FDA Associate Commissioner of Foods David Acheson will address how the Food Safety Modernization Act affects food processors and manufacturers.
The Webinar will be held Tuesday, June 7 from 2 to 3 p.m. Eastern time.
With the passage of the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act, food and beverage processors and packagers face stringent mandates related to food safety and food defense. This Webinar will help processors make sense of new requirements under the Act including hazard analysis and risk-based preventive controls, food audits and records access, mandatory recall and enhanced product tracing, as well as a number of new import safety provisions.
This webinar series is designed to educate food and beverage manufacturers on the impact of the latest regulatory mandates and how to achieve best-in-class status around Food Safety Management, which involves real-time supply chain visibility, manufacturing operations management, traceability and risk-based quality control. The first installment of this series will emphasize the latest FDA mandate and how to manage compliance more effectively.
