RIVERVIEW (WWJ) – A former baseball booster is due in court Wednesday to be arraigned on embezzlement charges.

Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged 49-year-old Alan Benson of Riverview in connection with alleged embezzlement from the Riverview Baseball Dug out Booster Club during 2010. He was president of the club at the time.

Benson is facing a charge of embezzlement of more than $1,000 but under $20,000 and a two-year felony charge of fraudulent check-writing.

If convicted, Benson faces up to seven years in prison.
