BBC, Southwest Michigan First offer SBIR-STTR grant seminar: BBCetc and Southwest Michigan First are working together to bring you a workshop on preparing winning federal Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer proposals with a focus on the National Institutes of Health. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 17 and 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 18 at Southwest Michigan First, 241 E. Michigan Ave., Kalamazoo. The cost is $150 for Michigan-based companies and $300 for those based elsewhere. Presented at this two-day intensive workshop will be SBIR/STTR eligibility, SBIR/STTR program details, strategic planning, nuts and bolts of writing a fundable proposal, SBIR/STTR review process, preparing a commercialization plan and steps to submit a proposal electronically. Life science focused and technology-based entrepreneurs and small companies seeking funding for R&D with plans to submit a SBIR/STTR proposal within the next 12 months should attend.
