I fill out a mock draft like an NCAA bracket. I just start filling out what I think will happen not what should happen and at the end I’m a little shocked at what I’ve done. Just like an NCAA bracket no mock draft is perfect.

The NFL draft is even harder to predict because of trades and this year there will most definitely be trades. But like in the NCAA tournament there’s always an unpredictable wild card. In the NCAA they’re called Cinderella’s. In
the NFL they’re called the Oakland Raiders. You can’t predict what they’re going to do you just let them entertain you. Sadly this year the Raiders do not have a 1st round pick. Oh well here it goes anyway…

1. Carolina Panthers – Cam Newton, QB Auburn
2. Denver Broncos – Marcell Dareus, DT Alabama
3. Buffalo Bills – Von Miller, DE/OLB Texas A&M
4. Cincinnati Bengals – A.J. Green, WR Georgia
5. Arizona Cardinals – Patrick Peterson, DB LSU
6. Cleveland Browns – Robert Quinn, DE North Carolina
7. San Francisco – Blaine Gabbert, QB Missouri
8. Tennessee Titans – Nick Fairley, DT Auburn
9. Dallas Cowboys – Tyron Smith, OT USc
10. Washington Redskins – Julio Jones, WR Alabama
11. Houston Texans – Prince Amukamara, DB Nebraska
12. Mionnesota Vikings – Cameron Jordan, DE California
13. Detroit Lions – Da’Qaun Bowers, DE Clemson
I don’t think Amukamara falls to them at 13 and Bowers maybe too talented and have too much of an upside to pass on even with the knee concerns. Also if Tyron Smith is somehow available don’t be surprised if the Lions take him.
Mayhew has shown us he loves taking the best player at their position.
14. St. Louis Rams – Corey Liuget, DT Illinois
15. Miami Dolphins – Mike Pouncey, OL Florida
16. Jacksonville Jaguars – Ryan Kerrigan, DE Purdue
17. New England Patriots (via Oakland) – Gabe Carimi, OT Wisconsin
18. San Diego Chargers – Phil Taylor, DT Baylor
19. New York Giants – Anthony Castonzo, OT Boston College
20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Aldon Smith, DE Missouri
21. Kansas City Chiefs – Akeem Ayers, LB UCLA
22. Indianapolis Colts – Nate Solder, OT Colorado
23. Philadelphia Eagles – Jimmy Smith, DB Colorado
24. New Orleans Saints – Marvin Austin, DT North Carolina
25. Seattle Seahawks – Jake Locker, QB Washington
26. Baltimore Ravens – Muhammad Wilkerson, DT Temple
27. Atlanta Falcons – Kyle Rudolph,TE Notre Dame
28. New England Patriots – Mark Ingram, RB Alabama
29. Chicago Bears – Derek Sherrod, OT Mississippi St.
30. New York Jets – Adrian Clayborn, DE Iowa
