WATERFORD (WWJ) – Waterford Township Police are looking into a potential case of child neglect.

A five-year-old boy was spotted riding a bike along Elizabeth Lake Road around 9pm Monday. A woman who recognized the boy helped him get home, but when police arrived, they learned that the boy’s mother was out of town and he was being watched by his grandmother. The child’s father doesn’t have custody, but will now be pushing for custody as child protective services is now involved.
