Fithian's Fab Five 5-3-11

I gave the Lions draft a C+. All things considered, love the Nick Fairley pick but I didn't like the Titus Young and the Mikel Leshoure selections. These two second round picks better be game breakers that the Lions see -- I don't see it. I mostly don't feel it.

I'll be watching Stephen Wisniewski, and the boat load of guys on defense that went early in the 2nd round. If Detroit was going to move up again for the second year in a row. I would have preferred CB or OLB. The back seven was the Lions biggest hole heading into the draft and the back seven is still the Lions biggest hole after the draft.

The good teams in the NFL find undrafted free agents to play big roles. As big as the draft finding undrafted players will be the challenge for the Lions moving ahead.

I'm not expecting a big name in free agency for the Lions. I put at least 15 teams in the Nnamdi Asomugha sweepstakes. Asomugha is looking for the money and a chance to win? I like the Lions direction but don't think that the Lions will look better that all of the others.

Wings are getting beat at their own game by the Sharks after the first two games.
I normally don't panic when it comes down to the Wings. They have earned it over the years with their play. After watching in series and in game come backs in these playoffs I fully expect the Wings to even things up this week after two games in Detroit.
