Expectec Rochester Hills Delivers Managed Cloud Through Online Tech

Expetec Rochester Hills Technology Services Thursday announced a partnership with Ann Arbor-based Online Tech Inc. to provide cost-effective managed cloud hosting to their clients.

Expetec will provide their small business customers the opportunity to move their servers into Online Tech's secure, reliable data centers with 24x7 technical support.

"We selected Online Tech's cloud hosting because it increases the reliability and scalability of our customers' IT infrastructure by moving their servers into highly secure Michigan data centers," said Michael St. John, vice president of Expectec Rochester Hills. "This managed cloud hosting agreement with Online Tech also lets us improve efficiency and save money for our clients."

Added Vicki Shepard, vice president of operations at Expetec Rochester Hills: "Cloud computing is the right technology at the right time for small businesses. The last thing small businesses want to deal with is buying server hardware and figuring out where to run it. Cloud hosting removes the hardware hassle and puts the businesses' core electronic assets into a highly secure data center at a fraction of the cost."

By moving to Online Tech's managed cloud hosting, clients get secure servers that can scale in size and power in a matter of minutes. The servers can be backed up offsite to Online Tech's second data center 53 miles away, providing a safe, easy and cost-effective disaster recovery option.

Online Tech's cloud infrastructure provides a fully redundant and high availability environment for Expetec's applications and cloud services. Online Tech's data centers are SAS 70 Type II and SSAE 16 audited to ensure that their data stored in the cloud is safe and secure.
