Michigan's Stonum Was Arrested Before Suspension

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - Michigan wide receiver Darryl Stonum was arrested Friday morning on suspicion of drunken driving, the day before the school announced he had been suspended indefinitely.

Coach Brady Hoke said Saturday that Stonum had made a "poor decision" and was being disciplined, but he didn't elaborate.

Diane Brown of the University of Michigan police says Stonum was arrested around 2:25 a.m. on Friday on suspicion of operating while under the influence. It was not immediately clear if he had a lawyer.

Stonum started 12 games as a junior last season for coach Rich Rodriguez and ranked second on the team in receptions and yards receiving. He has 76 career receptions for 1,008 yards and six touchdowns.
