Rain Not Putting A Damper On Flower Day At Eastern Market

DETROIT (WWJ) - April Showers bring May flowers and we've got the flowers for Flower Day in Eastern Market but the showers aren't keeping the crowds down.

WWJ's Beth Fisher stopped by The 45th annual Flower Day, where more than a million plants and flowers are featured.

People are donning rain gear and umbrellas as they cart off flats of flowers and baskets.

WWJ's Beth Fisher caught up with Jennifer Harvey of New Baltimore:

Harvey says she paid $30 for the four flats of flowers and that's about $3 dollars per-flat less than she'd pay in the area she lives.

Missy Dixon of Sterling Heights bought a double-decker rolling cart-load of flowers.

"We got some begonias, geraniums, some impatient pots, which were a good deal, and we got a bunch of fruit and vegetables," says Dixon.

Flower Day runs Sunday until 5 p.m.
