General Motors To Make Major Announcement Wednesday
DETROIT (WWJ) - A big announcement is expected Wednesday from General Motors. It is anticipated that GM will add 2,500 jobs at its Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly plant, to build its next generation Chevy Impala.
GM plans to pump in about $70 million dollars and add a second shift at the facility to build its full size Chevy alongside the Chevy Volt electric car.
The 2013 Chevy Malibu will also be built at the Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly plant.
Most of the additional workers will come from the 1,300 workers that are still on layoff.
