Highland Township Murder

Highland Township (WWJ) - Oakland County Sheriff's investigators are searching for a suspect in the murder of a Highland Township mother.

Officials say they responded to a 911 call Friday afternoon reporting someone lying on the floor of the garage with a large amount of blood around her.

When they arrived, they found Ruth Anne Pyne, 51, in the garage of her Burwood Court home, near Hickory Ridge Road and M-59.

Pyne was discovered by her 10-year-old daughter who had just come home from school after being picked up by her father.

An autopsy performed by the Oakland County Medical Examiner's office revealed that Pyne suffered severe trauma to the head and neck.

Officials ruled the death a homicide.
