Civil Rights Activist And Attorney, C. Robinson, Fatally Shot

FLINT (WWJ/AP) – Police say longtime Flint civil rights activist and attorney C. Frederick Robinson has been fatally shot. Robinson was killed late Friday night in Flint. There are no suspects in the case.

Robinson organized rallies and generated support for the Civil Rights movement. He was also instrumental in the 1968 passage of the fair housing ordinance. Its approval made Flint among the first cities to pass an open-housing referendum by popular vote.

Police are still searching for suspects in the case.

Anyone with information is asked to call Flint police.
