Piece Of Carnival Ride Detaches, One Person Taken To Hospital

LIVONIA (WWJ) - A WWJ Tipster reports that a piece of a carnival ride detached and has injured one person. The accident occurred during the annual Livonia Spree carnival.

The 36-year-old woman, who was injured, was taken to St. Mary's Hospital for treatment according to the Livonia Fire Department.

No word yet on what caused the accident.

The carnival ride, called the 'Fighter' has been shut down but the other rides are still running.

State inspectors will be called to examine the ride and help in the investigation.
