Judge: Chrysler Can't Block Use Of Slogan "Imported From Detroit"

DETROIT (AP) - A federal judge rejects Chrysler's request to block a clothing retailer from using the automaker's "Imported from Detroit" slogan that debuted in a popular Super Bowl ad featuring Eminem.

Chrysler Group filed suit against owners of the Pure Detroit company. Judge Arthur Tarnow rejected Chrysler's request for a preliminary injunction against Pure Detroit.

A statement on Pure Detroit's web site says Chrysler's claims are "unsubstantiated."

A Chrysler spokesman says the auto company is disappointed and will continue fighting to protect the "Imported from Detroit" slogan.
