Detroit-area Woman, Son Killed In Traffic Wreck

MILLS TWP. (AP) - An 85-year-old Detroit-area woman and her son were killed when the car she was driving collided with a tractor-trailer in Ogemaw County.

Sheriff's Lt. Bob Clayton said in a news release Dorothy Erickson and her 56-year-old son, David, died Tuesday after the accident in Mills Township. Both were from Wayne County's Redford Township, about 140 miles to the southeast.

Clayton says Dorothy Erickson died on impact and David Erickson died of his injuries at West Branch Regional Hospital.

The truck driver from Traverse City suffered minor injuries.
