TRENTON (WWJ) – A man, who Trenton police say disregarded railroad warning lights, is hospitalized after his car hit a moving train early Wednesday morning.

The accident happened around 3 a.m. on Toledo Street near Vreeland and West Jefferson.  Investigators say the crossing does not have crossing gates, but the warning lights were working.

Police say the driver was taken to Southshore Hospital.  He has non-life threatening injuries, according to police.
