DETROIT (WWJ) – Livonia Congressman and Republican presidential candidate Thaddeus McCotter shoring up his conservative base by signing a “pro-life leadership pledge.”

“We must be a nation where all branches of government recognize that our rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are from God, not the government that was instituted to defend them,” McCotter said in a statement.

McCotter’s office says he has been given a 100 percent voting record by National Right to Life since joining Congress.
