Unidentified Body Found In Rouge River

WESTLAND (WWJ) - Westland Police are investigating  after a body was found in the Rouge River at Hines Park near Ann Arbor Trail.

Officials said they removed the human remains from about two-and-a-half feet of water near a log jam on Saturday. Initial investigation shows that the body had been in the water for a long period of time.

The body was not immediately identified and the age and sex were not immediately determined, due to decomposition. It also remains unknown whether the death was the result of a crime or an accident.
