Missing 5-Month-Old Investigation Continues With Few Leads

LUDINGTON (AP) -Ludington police say a three-week search has turned up nothing that would lead investigators to 5-month-old Katherine Shelbie-Elizabeth Phillips.

Although the search has ended, the Ludington Police Chief says the investigation is ongoing and leads are still coming in. He wouldn’t say whether he believes the child is dead or was given to someone else, but says “both possibilities are in play.”

Katherine lived with her mother at an apartment in Ludington, about 80 miles northwest of Grand Rapids.

Sean Phillips is believed to be the child’s father. He faces a kidnapping charge and is being held in the Mason County jail.

The baby was last seen in late June.
