Lions Take The Field For Training Camp

ALLEN PARK (WWJ) - Training camp is officially open for Detroit Lions, with the team hitting the practice field in Allen Park on Friday.

So how'd they look?  WWJ's Rhonda Moss spoke with Lions head coach Jim Schwartz.

"No fumbled exchanges, no false starts, no off-sides, their concentration level was good, I thought they were crisp," said Schwartz.

Detroit Lions player Nate Burleson gave WWJ an interesting "take" on all the drama surrounding the NFL.

"Next to the day-time soaps, and the WWE, the NFL is the best soap opera out there, if you really pay attention to the stories in the off season, and some of the things that have happened in the NFL ...it's so exciting," said wide-receiver Burleson about the free agent frenzy and all the trade talks.

The Lions open the NFL pre-season in two weeks at home against the Cincinnati Bengals.

The NFL regular season starts September 11th in Tampa Bay.
