Macy’s Bringing ‘Elfapalooza’ To Eastern Market

The Macy’s department store chain is bringing its Great Elf Adventure to the Eastern Market in Detroit this Saturday.

From now until Aug. 24, there are “naked” elves hidden in all Macy’s stores. Clues are online to find them. Guests go to the stores and say the password in the appropriate department. Hunters will then receive an elf,
Also, from now until Aug. 24, customers can “dress” the elf with color and design and post a front and back view on Macy’s Facebook page. Each real elf also has an identification number on the back that would need to be entered.
Finally, Macy’s will post the top 85 elf entries online by Aug. 30. Fans and friends may vote on their favorite design through Sept. 6. The winning design will be transformed into a helium balloon to debut in this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade. The winning artist and three guests will be flown to New York to see the Parade live.
This Saturday, Macy’s Elf-Apolooza is coming to Detroit’s Eastern Market from 1 yo 6 p.m. Macy’s helpers will distribute the elves from a custom designed mobile unit. There will be family activities and special Macy’s Parade Giveaways.
