Car Will Honor Fallen Cops In Dream Cruise

DETROIT (WWJ) - There will be a somber side to this weekend's Dream Cruise.
WWJ's Roberta Jasina reports the details of the special police memorial that will be driving up and down Woodward Saturday.

Hazel Park police officer Joe Roeder will be driving a brand new silver Jaguar in the Dream Cruise; the car baring the names of fallen Michigan police officers' including Livonia's Larry Nehasil and Charles Armour of Detroit.

"It's our memorial car for the Dream Cruise, it's for fallen  officers and for their families. I still remember them ... it makes a statement," said Roeder.

The car was donated for the cause by Jaguar of Troy, and the artwork  was done for free of charge by Marcia Hurst of Magic Graphics of Clinton Twp.

"It's a great, great cause, it's honoring the guys that have passed, and everyone feels for their family ... they are not forgotten," said Hurst.

The Woodward Dream Cruise runs Saturday from early morning until just after dusk.
