Fire At Taylor Wendy’s

TAYLOR (WWJ) – A fire at a Wendy’s restaurant led to a road closure in Taylor.

Police and fire crews were a the scene, late Wednesday afternoon, a the Wendy’s on Ecorse Road between Monroe and Mountainview.

Witness Kelly Klein called into the WWJ Newsradio 950 newsroom.

“The back end of it, you can see that there’s fire damage or smoke damage,” said Klein. “The police department is letting me nowhere near it, and there are people standing at the gas station right at the corner of Monroe and Ecorse, which is next to it,” she said.

Police tell WWJ the building was evacuated and there were no injuries.

The Ecorse Road closure was causing some backups eastbound to Pardee Road.  Stay with WWJ for the latest during traffic and weather, every 10 minutes on the 8’s.

It happened today (Thursday) not Wednesday and the street is spelled Mortenview…I work across the street from Wendys and watched as it went up in flames.
