There's A "Situation" Afoot In Michigan

EAST LANSING (WWJ/AP) - Bust out the spray tan, do a few sit ups and get ready for "t-shirt time." One of the stars of MTV's popular reality series "Jersey Shore" will be filming a web series in East Lansing this weekend.

Perhaps best known by his nickname, "The Situation," Mike Sorrentino will be in Michigan to film scenes for an upcoming Web series for YOBI.tv.

The series is called "New Stage" and features Sorrentino as a hip-hop mogul who's chosen to be the lead judge on the American version of a popular British singing competition show.

The series is the culmination of a full season of YOBI.tv's acting, singing, comedy, filmmaking and photography contests. Winners in those contests earned the opportunity to work with Sorrentino on the series, either in on-camera roles or in the production crew.

Filming is scheduled to run through the weekend at the Wharton Center on the Michigan State University campus.

Episodes will begin airing on YOBI.tv later in the month.
