SALINE — DesignHub Inc. of Saline is creating a coordinated set of marketing materials for The Business of Plugging In, a plug-in electric vehicle conference to take place Oct. 11-13 at the Dearborn Hyatt Regency.

This year’s BPI event is the third annual. The conference is hosted each fall by the Ann Arbor-based Center for Automotive Research. Approximately 600 leaders from the automotive industry, utility sector, and government are expected to attend this year.

DesignHub has freshened the theme art for the 2011 BPI conference and updated the Web site. The company has also created mailings, a brochure and a flyer, and print and online advertising to help promote the event. DesignHub is now at work on signage, a speaker book, and PowerPoint templates to be used at the conference itself.

CAR launched The Business of Plugging In with a grant from the Michigan Public Service Commission in 2009. The conference cultivates discussion among key stakeholders about developing a business model and infrastructure to support the introduction and future growth of plug-in electric vehicles.

CAR’s mission is to conduct research on significant issues related to the future direction of the global automotive industry, as well as organize and conduct forums of value to the automotive community.
