ROMULUS (WWJ) – Romulus has a new chief of police.  Robert Dickerson, a 25-year veteran of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, has been sworn in by Mayor Alan Lambert.

“Chief Dickerson is a decorated officer who brings a wealth of experience to the Romulus Police Department,” Mayor Lambert said in a statement. “His background in law enforcement is very impressive and he already knows our city. I know he will lead our Police Department with the same vigor and demeanor that made him such an asset in the Sheriff’s Department for so many years,” he said.

A graduate of the FBI National Academy, Dickerson retired from the sheriff’s department in 2008 and has been working for a web-based training company.  He said he is eager and excited about his return to law-enforcement and leading and serving the Romulus Police Department and residents of the city.

Former chief Michael St. Andre resigned last week due to illnesses in his family.

outside the fact that a 40 yr old woman feels the need to blcisbre her name on a public bench, what I find more amazing is that she did not feel uncomfortable doing so in broad daylight with a good number of people around her. It was such a casual approach on her part, you almost get the feeling that this is an everyday thing in Detroit… oh wait, it is.
