Is It An Omen? Lions Walk All Over Bears At Detroit Zoo

Coming up next week -- for the first time in a decade -- the Detroit Lions will host a regular season Monday Night Football game against the Chicago Bears.

Wednesday, the actual lions at the Detroit Zoo were given a Chicago bear-shaped piñata filled with meat. The idea was to see them devour the piñata -- just like Lions fans are hoping will happen on Monday.

The zoo's Patricia Janeway said there is also a wager attached to the fun.

"If the Detroit Lions win then the Lincoln Park Zoo [in Chicago] will send a nice enrichment treat to our lions, and if the Chicago Bears win we'll send a treat for their bears," Janeway said.

As it turned out the lions didn't actually devour the pinata, but they did walk all over it. It could be a good sign.
