West Side Detroit Standoff Ends In Arrest
DETROIT (WWJ) - A man is in Detroit Police custody after barricading himself inside his apartment with a hammer for two hours.
Police said officers went to the man's Detroit apartment in the area of Greenfield and Vassar around 12:30 p.m. to execute a court order, but the 58-year old retreated inside.
With the help of concerned family members, the situation was resolved peacefully when the man emerged and surrendered.
He was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. No injuries were reported.
There was no immediate word on expected charges.
