Kroger Recalls Private Selection Ice Cream

DETROIT (WWJ) - Kroger is recalling ice cream sold in Michigan and nine other states because it may contain peanuts not mentioned on the label.

The recall involves Private Selection Extreme Moose Tracks Ice Cream sold in 16-ounce pints with a "sell by" date of June 18, 2012 and the UPC Code: 11110 52909.

People who are allergic to peanuts could have a serious or life-threatening reaction if they consume this product. For consumers who are not allergic to peanuts, there is no safety issue with the product.

The ice cream was sold at Kroger stores in Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, South Carolina and Tennessee.

Customers should return the product to stores for a full refund or replacement.
