Serial Rapist Sentenced To 30-60 Years In Prison

DETROIT (WWJ) - Accused eastside rapist Raynard Coleman, 31, learned his fate Friday in Judge Craig Strong's courtroom, after being found guilty of kidnapping and raping five women and attempting to rape another woman over a 10-day period in January.

Coleman asked to withdraw his not guilty plea, but that was denied by Strong.

Through the help of DNA evidence - Coleman was convicted of seven counts of kidnapping, robbery and illegal use of a gun, along with a laundry list of other charges for the reported crimes.

In 2009, Coleman was paroled from prison after serving 14 years for attempted murder.

Coleman's lawyer told the media several months ago he feared prison may have turned his client into a "monster."
