'Occupy' Protestors Endure Detroit's Rough Weather

DETROIT (WWJ) - Occupy Detroit holding its own as protestors brave the elements to make their message heard.

The tents and the people who make up Occupy Detroit remain at Grand Circus Park following Wednesday night's heavy rain and winds. Pallets and old doors are being used as walkways to keep the ground from being muddy and giant tarps ward off rain as people huddle around a campfire to stay warm and dry out.

One supporter who identifies himself as Jordan, however, says they are being challenged to endure. "We are pretty down in the ditches on support. We're running low on supplies in a lot of areas, we need a lot of stuff. We definitely need a lot of help as in people coming and helping us because we are splintering," he says.

The numbers for Occupy Detroit vary between 100 and 200 people as they try to get more to join their effort to make a stand.
