Medicare Enrollment Begins Early This Year
If you need to sign-up for Medicare Part D, you better get moving. Enrollment began early this year.
LouAnn Lefere Shawver of Priority Health says in the past five years, Medicare enrollment began November 15th and ended December 31st. This year, enrollment began October 15th and will end December 7, 2011.
The earlier enrollment period is designed to allow for completion of paperwork well in advance of the January 1, 2012 effective date.
People who put off electing a prescription drug provider until after the deadline, Shawver says, will pay more each month.
