Khang's Blog: My Final Reflection On The Tigers 2011 Season

Before we start speculating and fantasizing about the Detroit Tigers off season I would like to reflect one final time on their 2011 season. One of the biggest if not the biggest complaints fans had all year was about Jim Leyland's lineup. Before every game the lineup would be announced and fans would be salivating at the chance to rip it. Why is Raburn in the field? Why is Inge still on the team? Who's Don Kelly? Santiago should be batting lower! These were common calls we would receive at the station daily. Well it turns out these would be the same players the Tigers would be counting on during their playoff run. Who knows maybe if they didn't get those regular season reps they wouldn't have been able to contribute as much as they did? It turns out the often criticized manager Jim Leyland knows a little something about baseball. Does he always make the right decision? No. But after 6 LCS's, 2 World Series and 3 managers of the years I think the man has earned the right to fill out a lineup card for at least another year.
