Ann Arbor Hosts Horror Movie Fest
ANN ARBOR (WWJ) - Do you like to be REALLY scared? Then you may want to head to Ann Arbor Friday night for the annual Horror Movie Fest. Festival director Jonathan Barkan said they'll be showing independent films from the U.S. and overseas.
His favorite is an Irish film called "Blinky". "Blinky is about a young boy whose parents are constantly fighting and he asks for a robot in the hopes it will talk over all his chores, ease his parents' minds and bring them back together. But the film sort of asks, "Is this robot really his best friend?," explained Barkan.
Barkan said the festivities will kick off with a zombie walk to the theatre beginning at 4:30 p.m. The movies get underway at 6:30 p.m. and will feature a screaming and costume contest as well.
"I think that it's the best way to kick off the Halloween weekend," he said.
