Contract Talks To Resume For MGM Grand Casino Workers

DETROIT (WWJ) - Contract talks resume Monday for employees of MGM Grand Casino in Detroit after they rejected  a tentative agreement last week.

WWJ Newsradio 950's Beth Fisher reports that there will be negotiations with a federal mediator as both sides try to come to an agreement .

MGM workers rejected a deal after  workers at Motor City casino and Greektown Casino approved contracts.  John is a dealer at MGM and spoke with Beth Fisher.

"Right now we are all hoping for a fair and equitable contract to come out of this tentative agreement was overwhelmingly rejected by the membership and the meeting on Monday I hope that we can come together and express the issues that came about from that rejection," said John.

John wouldn't address what  issues remain, but it's reportedly health care costs and salary.  He says they are working while talks continue. MGM has nearly 2300 employees who belong to four unions.
