Deputy Tasered By Suspect During Struggle

JACKSON COUNTY (WWJ) - A Jackson County Sheriff's Deputy is going to be alright -- after being tasered in the hand by a suspect he was trying to arrest.

Investigators say the deputy was responding Saturday to a report of a family dispute.  While he and other officers were talking with one man -- the suspect ran at them.

He started fighting with deputies, and then grabbed the taser.  That's when it went off in the deputy's hand.

The suspect was quickly taken into custody and will face charges.
