Trail For Man Accused Of Postal Truck Repair Bribery

DETROIT (WWJ) - A man accused of taking bribes to send postal trucks to a Detroit garage for repair says he wants a trial.

Federal Judge Avern Cohn suggested that a plea deal might be a wiser choice for Denny Robinson. Cohn added that federal court can be a "very rough place." But Robinson plans to go to trial Monday.

He's charged with accepting $75,000 in cash, cars and vehicle repairs in exchange for sending postal trucks to Metro Diesel in Detroit. Authorities have video of Robinson taking cash from garage owner Joe Fawaz.

Two other men who worked for the Postal Service have pleaded guilty and agreed to testify.
