Coherix Now Offering Contract Measurement Services

ANN ARBOR --  Coherix, a company that offers three-dimensional measurement technology to manufacturers, is now offering contract measurement services using its ShaPix Surface Detective measurement technology.

ShaPix systems provide rapid acquisition of highly accurate 3-Dimensional data for use in precision manufacturing operations and product development processes. Parts with precision planar surfaces can be sent to one of Coherix's Service Bureaus and measured with Coherix's ShaPix technology, which creates 4 million data points per measurement, accurate to within 1 micron.  The results are presented in a 3D color picture of the part's surface topography that can quickly be interpreted and acted upon.

"Entering the measurement services business is a natural fit for Coherix," said Manfredi, the company's vice president of automotive. "Our ShaPix measurement system provides rapid troubleshooting capability and is a great tool for quickly identifying complex part and process issues.  Measurement services allow Coherix to provide the easy to understand 3D Shape pictures and data to companies without requiring a capital equipment purchase."

Coherix metrology specialists can also help customers analyze their data for root cause such as the effect of changes in tool inserts, clamping pressures, feed rates, tool speed and cutting directions.  Multiple sizes of parts can be accommodated and measurement turnaround time can be 1 day if required.

Coherix is a privately held, global supplier of high-speed, high-definition 3D visualization and inspection solutions designed to improve the management of manufacturing processes in the automotive and semiconductor industries.

Headquartered in Ann Arbor, the company has technical centers in Europe and the Asia Pacific region. Coherix products are being used around the world in the manufacturing and semiconductor industries at companies such as Intel, Amkor, John Deere, Bosch, BorgWarner, Ford, Honda, MAG, Chrysler, General Motors, Micron, Infineon, Volvo Technology Transfer and TRW among others.
