New Questions Arise From Departure Of DMA Authority Board Chairwoman

DETROIT (WWJ) - It appears the former chairwoman of the Detroit Metro Airport Authority Board did not reveal the actual reason she stepped down from her position.

Documents obtained by The Detroit Free Press show that Renee Axt had failed to reveal several conflicts of interest that should have been included in her airport authority disclosure form.

But, the Freep says it was not until just days before Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano called for board members to resign that Axt revealed that one of her clients may have received an airport contract approved by the board ... she has a sister who works for her lobbying firm and a brother who works for Wayne County.

When Axt resigned from the board, she cited "personal reasons" for her decision.
