Gordie Howe Files Lawsuit Over Lost Tapes

DETROIT (WWJ) - Hockey Hall of Fame member Gordie Howe has filed a lawsuit over the loss of tapes, videos and personal documents.

The former Detroit Red Wing is accusing former business managers of destroying his belongings. The lawsuit filed in Oakland County Circuit Court says the losses breached a 2008 agreement to settle an earlier lawsuit.

Howe's attorney, Steven Matta says that the possessions were personal and included videos of his late wife, Colleen.

The 2008 settlement ended a lawsuit alleging mismanagement of Howe's business affairs. As part of the deal, all of Howe's possessions were supposed to be returned.

An affidavit from a shredding company says hundreds of CDs, DVDs and documents were destroyed.
