PDS, Vidtel Enable Affordable, Cloud-Based, Interoperable Video

FARMINGTON HILLS -- Preferred Data Systems LLC announced a partnership with Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Vidtel Inc. to deliver enterprise-grade video conferencing services to the small-medium enterprise market.

The companies said their offering fills a gap between expensive solutions designed for large enterprises or consumer-grade services such as Skype.

Addressing this void in the SME market, Vidtel has developed cloud-based video conferencing services. Spanning boardrooms, mobile workers and everything in between, the service allows room-based video conferencing systems, executive desktop video systems, PCs/Macs, smartphones and tablets to work together. Any combination of SIP, H.323, Skype and Google Talk technologies can interoperate on demand with Vidtel's service. To deliver this system to customers, Vidtel has teamed up with channel partners, including Preferred Data Systems.

A premier networking service provider for SMEs, Preferred Data Systems will be introducing MeetMe to the Southeast Michigan region. Through Vidtel's service, Preferred Data Systems' customers will be able to conduct business-grade multi-party, multi-vendor video conferences regardless of endpoint, platform or service and without the need for expensive bridges or exchange services. This approach allows customers to pursue a best-of-breed approach to their video conferencing endpoints, using a combination of conference room, office and mobile solutions.

Under the distribution agreement with Vidtel, Preferred Data Systems offers Vidtel MeetMe (multi-party video conferencing service) for both InFocus's 55-inch Mondopad wall tablet and other video conferencing devices. PDS also offers Vidtel Connect (a point-to-point connectivity service that traverses firewalls) on the Mondopad through its agreement with InFocus.

Vidtel's any-to-any cloud solution breaks down the primary SME barriers for enterprise-level video conferencing: cost, know-how and usability. The Vidtel solution offered by Preferred Data Systems is priced in a range for businesses of any size, requires no IT expertise or additional capital expenditure beyond existing systems and is as easy to use as dialing a telephone.

"Partnering with Vidtel enables PDS to deliver business-class video conferencing at a fraction of the traditional costs.  Businesses are now able to take advantage of the many benefits that video conferencing offer without having a negative impact on their budget," said Kelly Comeaux, president of Preferred Data Systems.

The Vidtel cloud video conferencing service is available immediately through Preferred Data Systems.  Please contact info@pdsnetworking.com to get started.

Preferred Data Systems is among the first participants in Vidtel's new channel program, which is open to value-added resellers such as video conferencing specialists, AV integrators, VoIP providers and managed service providers.
