GRAND RAPIDS — Startup Weekend is coming back to Grand Rapids Jan. 13-15 at The Factory, 38 W. Fulton St., Suite 320.

Startup Weekend is a 54-hour startup event that provides the networking, resources, and incentives for individuals and teams to go from idea to company  launch. Startup Weekend’s motto: “Build Community. Start Companies. No Talk. All Action.”

The event is open to anyone interested in the local entrepreneurial community, and it puts them in a setting where anything is possible. In the past two years, national Startup Weekend events have launched 280 companies and inspired more than 9,000 entrepreneurs. Teams have even started to generate revenue during the event, and others have even gone on to direct angel and VC investment.

The Factory is an open office for community leaders, entrepreneurs and business professionals sponsored by Grand Valley State University, the seed funding accelerator Momentum, the interactive agency Elevator Up the digital video production company DVS and the law firm Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge. On Startup Weekend, it will be the site of the birth of a company.
