OU Police Seek Dorm Room Thieves
Southfield (WWJ)- The Oakland University Police Department is hoping to find two thieves who are walking into dorm rooms and ripping off students.
Police say the thefts have been reported over the last few weeks. The dorm rooms were unlocked.
Police say someone went into two unlocked dorm rooms in Hamlin Hall Tuesday evening during a fire alarm. A laptop, two iPods and a student's purse with ID were stolen from an unlocked room.
Surveillance photos of the two people police want to talk to have been obtained and are on the university website. Anyone with information regarding these incidents or information regarding the identity of the two subjects should contact police by calling ext. 3331 via a campus telephone or (248) 370-3331.
Students who stay in the dorms also are reminded to keep their dorm rooms locked.
